Cyril Ramaphosa sworn in as South Africa's president

Cyril Ramaphosa told South Africans on Saturday that “a new era” had dawned as he was sworn in for a five-year term as president. More than 30,000 people gathered to witness the ceremony which included a flypast and military parade. Ramaphosa’s inauguration followed his ruling African National Congress party’s 57.5% victory in this month’s election.
