West African leaders to visit Jammeh again amid impasse

Leaders of Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Liberia are due to visit Gambian President Yahya Jammeh on Wednesday in a second attempt to press him to hand over power. An ECOWAS delegation led by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf visited Gambia in December but failed to persuade Jammeh to step down. The West African bloc has said that a military intervention to force Jammeh out was conceivable. On Monday President Muhammadu Buhari and other West African leaders met in Abuja, in a bid to resolve the political impasse in Gambia. Nigeria’s Foreign Minister says the regional bloc is still exploring every option.

  2. President Jammeh has the right to take the matter to court. What amazed me is that these puppets are not even willing to acknowledge the President’s right to take the matter to court because of the order imposed on them by their white masters.
